macOS Versions Market Share in 2026

This chart shows the top 10 macOS Versions for each week in the last year. Values are percentages.

Some interesting observations are:

• As there has been a significant growth of our dataset over the last months some part of volatility and spikes in the data may be caused by our increasing dataset rather than by a general trend.
• Within one month, macOS 26.3 had jumped from less than 2% to almost 40% at the end of February 2026 and was clearly the most used version. During March its share increased further to almost 57% and has since then decreased to 3.02% at the end of August.
• macOS 26.5 appeared among the 10 most used versions during May and has clearly been the most used version with up to around 74% during July. In the last week of July, the share started dropping and was at 25.24% as of the end of August.
• macOS 26.6 was among the most used versions for the first time in the last week of July and by the end of August had a share of 54.34%.
• macOS 27.0 is appearing and was at 1.26% at the end of August 2026.
