WTF is a YOPK?
We've recently been working hard on a new way to pipeline data into namespaces by moving off other solution onto our own self-hosted data pipelines based on a software called Apache Kafka.
For reasons that will always remain a mystery to me, Daniel kept humming, singing or drumming the melody to Depeche Mode's Your Own Personal Jesus while working on this, but changed the lyrics to Your Own Personal Kafka, which was then abbreviated into YOPK.
This spectacularly silly name was how the branch was named,, how we talked about it, and how the entire project was identified in our tracker!
Anyway, the system allows paid customers get real-time data, while allowing free users to get fresh data about once per day. Now it's time to really test what these servers can do and so we need to put as many customers on them as possible.
