Pricing Update July 2026
TelemetryDeck’s new pricing table has more granularity, and a more affordable starter-plan and plans automatically grow with usage. All existing customers will be grandfathered until they leave their current plan or status.

If you currently don’t have an active subscription with TelemetryDeck, please visit our pricing calculator page to choose the perfect plan for you and check which features are included.
If you are an existing free user, you keep the volume of 100,000 included events per month. We recommend checking out our new starter plan because you might like to make use of the included features, such as personal access tokens and real-time data.
If you are an existing paid customer, you are now eligible for auto upgrades.
If you are an existing paid customer, you stay in your existing plan unless you’re auto-upgraded or change your subscription yourself.
For almost exactly two years now, Daniel and I have been talking about an update of our pricing model. Not only have we not adjusted our pricing since 2023, but we also hear a lot that experimenting with pricing models is perfectly normal for newly founded SaaS companies such as TelemetryDeck. But this project never made it to the top of our to-do list. Mostly because infrastructure was our priority for so long, and it took us a while to become so settled as founders that we felt ready to take some risks—because you cannot exactly predict how your customers will react to huge updates such as pricing model changes.
Why now? Over the past two years, we’ve been streamlining things behind the scenes and now feel ready to embark on a new chapter. We’ve found the right team size and have reliable, smart people who help us deliver a great app analytics service. We’ve restructured our infrastructure several times to a) meet our customers’ growing performance demands and b) finally host exclusively with German providers as a purely European service. We’ve reached a level of performance and features that feels on par with the needs of professional developer teams. On top of that, there are major developments beyond our control, such as the increasing cost of compute, the changing customer landscape which is nudging us to integrate AI (in a meaningful way) into our company and our product.
In the vast majority of cases, our customers send us very positive feedback, which we always take to heart (even though we still have room for improvement when it comes to response times; we really do read everything!).
One thing we hear time and again is that our pricing model isn’t ideal for smaller apps and indie developers. Offering more flexibility here and better reflecting reality was a major priority for us when developing the new pricing structure.
TelemetryDeck's pricing model (in general)
TelemetryDeck’s pricing model is based on the number of monthly events sent by all apps grouped under a single account. A certain number of events can be sent to our servers for free. Once the threshold is reached, the organization’s namespace stops accepting data for that organization. For example, if the threshold is reached at 2 pm on the 15th of the month, the charts will drop to zero at 2:01 pm. If an upgrade is performed, the data will start flowing again. This happens automatically retroactively for up to 2 days. So, if you want to see complete data, you should act quickly when a warning email about reaching or exceeding the data volume limit lands in your inbox.
3 most important changes
The changes can be summarized into three main categories: greater granularity, automatic upgrades, and a more limited free plan.
Greater granularity
Since we’ve often received feedback that the steps between the different plans are too big, we’ve decided to make our pricing table more granular, especially at the lower end. This allows us to better address the needs of those who are just getting started with their app and user numbers. In particular, the big jump from 1.5M events to 5M was a topic that came up repeatedly in your messages, and we spent a lot of time finding custom solutions (and we’d rather spend that time improving the product).

Auto-Upgrades
If an organization uses 100% of their included events, we’ll inform them about this fact and continue collecting data. If this happens the second month in a row, the system will update their subscription to a higher plan. Of course our customers will also get an email alert when they reach 80% and 100% usage, giving them the opportunity to make adjustments.
Why only the second month in a row? To account for one-off spikes. The vast majority of our customers use TelemetryDeck for app analytics, and (unexpected) spikes are simply a part of this business. We don’t want something as great as being featured in the App Store or going viral to negatively affect our customers and lead to higher costs. Instead, this model is based on growing together with our customers sustainably, and the auto-upgrade reflects that.
By the way, this process isn’t new, this was there when TelemetryDeck transformed from a hobby into a product. We had paused it because a lot of technical things around how we receive and count events has changed, but now it’s back.
Fewer free events
From the very beginning, we’ve provided every TelemetryDeck account with 100,000 free events—every month. We can no longer maintain this threshold, so we’ve decided to lower it to 50,000. Even so, our offering is still far superior to that of our main competitors.
We also have the data to show that this should be more than enough for indie experiments, hobbyist apps, and labors of love, because these are the types of projects we adore and want to continue supporting!
Important: All accounts created with us before July 1, 2026, will retain the limit of 100,000 free events per month.
Price increase
Effective July 1, 2026, we will implement our first price increase since April 2023, raising the average price per event a bit, depending on which exact plan customers were in before. This increase reflects the rising costs of licenses, hosting, and living expenses, which have been affecting us all for several years now.
Important: All customers who signed up for a plan with us before July 1, 2026, will keep their current plan (at the original price). If you switch plans manually or qualify for an auto-upgrade, the new price list will automatically apply.
What do we expect?
This blog post breaks the good old content rule: one message per piece of content and one call to action. We have at least two messages here, because in addition to providing information to our customers, we also want to share the thinking that led to this new model.
TelemetryDeck is mainly used by people who intend to build a business, or at least a side hustle, with their apps. That’s why I regularly share insights into our strategy and challenges here on the blog or share a few numbers and insights so we can learn from each other and build cool things together.
We hope our new pricing model will encourage more of our new customers to sign up for a paid plan right at signup since we’re offering a lower entry price. Auto-upgrades should slightly increase annual revenue per customer. And we assume that, in the long run, fewer of our customers will “get stuck” on the 1.5M plan because the new intermediate step of 2.5M makes the jump to 5M less of a leap.
We’ll let you know whether our expectations were met or not. And we’d love to hear your feedback. Please send it to our support channel.
